Welcome, Linda. Be sure to check out the neighborhood garden on Joyner. It's a slow season now, but you can still find activity there on weekends (and the occasional bonfire on random nights). We'd love to have you -- and everyone else -- join us. C…

what's that smell

hi fellow westsiders -

it is Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, 11:34AM and there is a stink upon us. can anyone help me figure out what it is? - it is very sulphur-ish. some have told me on humid, hazy days it travels from the West paper mills ... others insist there is a landfill near us that has just been stirred up. regardless, i hate it, wish it would die and go away. thank you for your help. kc

Hey West Asheville!

Interesting that we'd nurture community on line but I thing this is really a great beginning. I'm a member of the Haywood Rd. Coop Market and there's an owner's potluck this Sunday that I'm looking forward to going to!

I just moved to West Asheville from Holland MI...to be by my mom and many siblings but also to get out of West Michigan's CLOUDY CLOUDY winter that stretches for 6 solid months. (It's not the snow that I mind so much as the dark gloomy clouds!) This is a beautiful place. And I'm… Continue
