Living It Up On the Westside
What happened to some of the community-oriented gatherings?
Hi folks,
My wife and I recently bought out first house in West Asheville and we are beyond excited to settle in and to become greatly involved in all aspects of the community!
I am a lifelong native of WNC and during my years at UNCA in the mid-late 90's I loved Haywood Rd. as it came to life once again through forms such as WestFest, the West Asheville Picnic, the Walk In Theater and more. My question is what happened to some of these events? Did it deal with permitting issues or simply energy and commitment? I know that the Walk-In Theater ran last year but it started back in April and I haven't heard anything yet for this year.
Thanks for any feedback as I would love to see some of these community-building events re-emerge and would be more than glad to dedicate my time and energy to see them succeed!
