THE CO-OP IS LOSING ITS LEASE!!
Some of you may have already heard that the winter season, plus this economic downturn, has had its toll on the Haywood Road Market. And unfortunately, the outcome is the worst kind - our landlords have served the Market with an eviction letter. As it stands, we’re being asked to leave by the end of May.
Our owners must come together and decide the fate of this co-op: do we move? do we close? do we morph into something new? We need to hear the voices of our owners and the greater community, and we must vote on this issue; otherwise, the path seems predisposed to close our business.
Join us on Tuesday, April 21
at 6:30pm in the Co-op.
Come ready to cast your vote and tell
us what you want to become of the
Haywood Road Market.

Where in MI are you originally from?
I also think the that the Haywood Road Market should be a GROUP on this forum. News and info could be shared here.
Also info like exactly WHEN the fresh veggies arrive. I'd like to schedule my purchases for THAT day!!! I went today but just couldn't bring myself to buy those tired tired veggies.
Or does the Market have a blog??? Maybe someplace to highlight some special items for sale at the market...Recipies! ...or maybe on this forum....
And NEWS about the Restaurant going in!! Big news! How will that be handled to heighten PR?
Are you having a grand opening big deal for that???
I think that developing the West Asheville Community in general will help the Coop specifically.
I gave my email address when I bought a membership but have not rec'd any email notifications. Do I get a Member card? Is a Member the same thing as an owner? That wasn't so clear...Only owners come to the potluck meetings?
Well, these are just ideas.
Thanks for listening...
