His pal from school lives right right in the middle of a neighborhood that seems to get completely taken over by trick or treaters. Miriam said we only got about four all night on Dorchester. Y'all should come over some time. We just got a ping pong table set up in the garage -- Conor and Morgan would be well-matched. Be well.

At 8:24am on July 30, 2008, Bryan Freeborn said…: I heard about ning this past winter, set up the westasheville.ning and did nothing with it other than test functionality until recently when Sage Linden started spreading the word. We went from 4 members to 65 in a week. I hope that people will really embrace this platform for communication. I am in the process of developing a web based communications tool for citizens to interact with decision makers to create direct democracy.

How Many Years Have You Lived In West Asheville

8 of the 10 yrs we've been in Asheville. We are Polly, Rick and Morgan McDaniel.

Why Did You Move To West Asheville

Walkable community, convenient to my downtown job

What are some of your interests?

Gardening is the biggest. Also community parks, fostering community, and historic preservation. Our house was built in 1908, so it's 100 years old this year. Also, getting to know each other to form neighborhood bonds. I am also interested in neighborhood safety, crime prevention. And I'm a member of the Save the Jarrett House board, working to save the historic Jarrett House on Lousiana Avenue near Ingles to turn it onto a public park. More on that later.
