Stream Restoration at Malvern Hills

The stream restoration and rain garden project at Malvern Hills Park and West Asheville Park is moving along quite nicely. The plans are complete and we are waiting on our permits and we are in the process of selecting a contractor to do the work. We hope the work will begin around the first of October and we are planning to hold several volunteer activities such as planting trees and removing invasive species as the project progresses. As part of the contractor selection, we wanted to allow neighborhood, you all, to have some feedback into this process. If you would like to review the qualifications and participate in any interviews please let me know. We want to make this a great project for the river, the neighborhood, and we hope this will spawn some other projects. Feel free to email me with any questions as we move forward.
